    1. By executive order, Trump shrunk the two Utah properties, Bears Ears by 85% and Grand Staircase by 46%. Interior Department documents recently obtained by the New York Times show that the primary motivation for shrinking these national monuments was the potential for extracting coal and oil. (Oil and coal drove Trump’s call to Shrink Bears Ears and Grand Staircase)

  1. I like the premise of your blog. Wonderful photos. The Utah parks and monuments are near and dear to me (literally and figuratively). I belong to the local Indivisible group and co-chair the Public Lands committee. We are actively advocating for Bears Ears and GSE, as well as preservation of the Antiquities Act. Keep on showing people how wonderful these places are!
